Meet
Dr. Andrea Deoudes

Dr. Deoudes, associate veterinarian, graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a small animal emergency and rotating internship at VCA Veterinary Referral Associates in Gaithersburg, MD. Her interests include neurology, emergency medicine, and preventative health care. Outside of work, Andrea enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking with her 3 rescue mutts (General, Sergeant, and Scout), playing soccer, and watching sports, especially football.

Dr. Asia Campfield

Dr. Asia Campfield, DVM Co-Owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon. Dr. Siudak-Campfield, Co-Owner, is a graduate of the University Of Wisconsin School Of Veterinary Medicine. She was born and raised in Malbork, Poland. She also has a master’s degree in oceanography from studying in Poland and Denmark.

Dr. Jeffery Newman

DVM Co-owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Alexandria, Arlington, Ashburn, Merrifield, Rockville, and Clarendon.

Dr. Newman, Dr. Newman, Co-Owner, is a graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in 1992. He has practiced veterinary medicine in Georgia, Nevada, and in Virginia. His interests include emergency medicine, surgery, and shelter medicine.

Dr. Michelle Vitulli, DVM Founder of Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Inc is the owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Inc in Centreville and co-owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Alexandria, Arlington, Ashburn, Bristow, Merrifield, Rockville, and Clarendon.

Dr. Michelle Vitulli, founder, and owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Inc in Centreville, Virginia, is a 1991 graduate of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Karen Murphy

DVM Co-owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Bristow, Merrifield, Rockville, and Clarendon.

Dr. Murphy, Co-Owner, is a graduate of Auburn University. She did a post-graduate internship at Angel Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA. She practiced in North Carolina’s Piedmont region for 5 years before joining Caring Hands Animal Hospital.

Dr. Emily Thornton

Dr. Thornton, associate veterinarian, graduated from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine after getting her bachelors degree from Virginia Tech. Dr. Thornton recently moved to Arlington after spending 2 years working at a small animal practice in southeast West Virginia. She grew up in northern Virginia and moved back to be closer to friends and family.

Dr. Bailey Goff is a new-graduate Veterinarian with Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. She has professional clinical interests in preventative medicine and infectious diseases.

Dr. Blake Shessel

Dr. Blake Shessel is a third-generation doctor and a graduate of The University of Georgia. Following her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2018, she completed a rotating internship at Bluepearl Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta, Georgia, a surgical internship at Friendship Hospital For Animals in DC, and a research fellowship at the University of Georgia in Athens.

Dr. Sarah Emond

Dr. Sarah Emond is a new associate veterinarian with Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2023, and her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and Leadership from the University of Florida. Dr. Emond has a special interest in internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, oncology, and client education.

Dr. Emma Kindig

Dr. Emma Kindig is an associate veterinarian at Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon. She earned her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Colorado State University after receiving her bachelor’s in biology from Tufts University. Dr. Kindig began exploring veterinary medicine when she lived with several pre-vet students during her junior year abroad in Tanzania.

Dr. Sarah Dowling

Dr. Sarah Dowling is an East Coast native but relocated to the Midwest as a child. She attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for her undergraduate and veterinary schooling, graduating with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. In 2012, she completed a rotating small animal internship at the University of Minnesota and went on to complete a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.
