Dedicated Surgical Facilities: Ensuring Your Pet's Safety and Comfort

Caring Hands Animal Hospital locations feature surgical suites designed for a range of procedures, from standard to critical. These can be scheduled with your preferred veterinarian, Monday through Friday.

Preparations

During all surgical procedures, a certified veterinary technician closely monitors each patient's vital signs, utilizing specialized equipment to measure heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen levels, carbon dioxide levels, blood pressure, and temperature. We prioritize your pet's comfort by administering pain medication both before and after surgery. If your pet requires specialized care beyond our hospital's capabilities, we will gladly provide referrals to a suitable specialist.

Protocols

  • Withhold food after 10:00 PM the evening prior to surgery. Small amounts of water are permissible.
  • Please bring your pet for admission between 7:30 and 8:00 AM. You will be asked to review and sign a Consent Form and Treatment Plan. Please allow sufficient time to examine these documents thoroughly and address any inquiries. Following the procedure, the doctor or technician will provide an update and schedule a discharge time.
  • For routine surgeries, pets are typically discharged on the same day as the procedure.
  • Discharge appointments will be arranged to discuss post-operative care and review all take-home medications.
