Advanced Surgery With a Caring Touch
Every Caring Hands Animal Hospital location features a fully equipped surgical suite for both routine and critical procedures, available by appointment Monday through Friday with your preferred veterinarian.
Preparations
Our Licensed Veterinary Technician closely monitors the vital signs of all surgical patients using specialized equipment to measure heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen levels, CO2 levels, blood pressure, and temperature. Pain medication is administered before and after surgeries to ensure your pet's comfort is our main concern. If you ever need a service that we do not offer, we are happy to provide referrals to a suitable specialist.
Protocols
Leading up to your pet’s surgery, you will be informed of the following protocols for your pet’s safety:
- Do not feed your pet after 10:00 PM the night before surgery. Limited water is allowed.
- Drop off your pet between 7:30–8:00 AM, review and sign the Consent Form and Treatment Plan. Allow time for questions. A doctor or technician will update you after surgery and confirm the discharge time.
- Routine surgeries are same-day discharges.
- Discharge appointments include a post-op care review and medication instructions.
No matter your pet’s surgical needs, the team at Caring Hands Animal Hospital provides compassionate and respectful care for both you and your pet.
We now have special spay & neuter packages available — find out more here.
Laser Surgery
At Caring Hands Animal Hospital, we offer a state-of-the-art surgical laser as an alternative to traditional surgical blades. Using a laser for surgery provides several benefits, including:
- Minimized Pain: The laser seals nerve endings as it cuts, leading to a more comfortable recovery.
- Less Bleeding: It cauterizes small blood vessels during surgery, reducing blood loss.
- Reduced Swelling: With no physical contact or tissue crushing, the laser makes precise incisions with minimal trauma.
