Katie Lay – Labrador Retriever with a little bit of Golden Retriever mixed in!
How did you obtain your pet?
Katie was my “foster failure” with Lab Rescue. She was only supposed to stay at the house for “a few hours” until someone else from Lab Rescue could pick her up, but that was over 14 years ago!
How old is your pet?
Katie is 14 ½ years old.
What is your pet’s favorite pastime?
Katie likes swimming, retrieving, eating things (both things she should and shouldn’t eat!), catching and eating mice, and playing with her canine siblings and toys.
What is your pet’s favorite toy?
Katie likes stuffed squeaker toys (especially her stuffed alligators and sharks that she got recently) and sometimes likes to destuff and desqueak them.
What is your favorite thing about your pet?
Katie is a special girl. She is shy, because she was abused when she was a puppy. So the bond I have with her is stronger than the bond I have with my other dogs, since Katie is slower to trust.
If your pet had a super power, what would it be?
I think Katie would like to fly, because it would help her catch mice faster!
Why does your pet love Caring Hands Animal Hospital?
Since Katie is shy, she gets very scared when she’s away from home. Caring Hands is always great with her, though – very patient and gentle.
