2.
What is your pet’s favorite pastime?
Boomers favorite pastime is going bye-bye. He loves to sit in the front seat and bark at every street sign, truck and motorcycle that passes/flies by.
What is your pet’s favorite toy?
Stuffed (singing) monkey.
What is your favorite thing about your pet?
Boomer was born with improperly shaped kidneys. He received the renal failure diagnosis about 6 months ago with the damage being permanent and irreversible. We were heartbroken when we learned in January that he was given 3-6 months to live. Boomer continues to have good days and bad, and we are grateful with the assistance of medication, fluids and love, the good ones continue to outweigh the bad ones. Boomer has many amazing qualities, however his resiliency and zest for life is one of our favorites. His tail is always wagging and he will always greet u with hugs and kisses. Boomer’s favorite thing is to be picked up and carried around like a baby- he literally wraps his front legs around your neck and rests his head on your shoulders!
If your pet had a super power, what would it be?
As with many animals, Boomer has the super power of insight and forethought. He approaches every situation with the knowledge and experience, even if he is faced with an unfamiliar environment. With everything he has been through, Boomer has never met a stranger, human, furry or otherwise. He makes friends wherever he goes and loves everyone and thing! He is gentle with babies of all kinds, share his toys with children, always up for snuggling up on the couch, but the most heart touching of all is his behavior is with the oldest member of our family who is 91 years old. He does whatever it takes to bring a smile to her face and to keep her safe. Boomer keeps the other dogs away from her broken arm, lays on the floor by her bed to keep an eye on her, and will put himself between her and his siblings if they get too wild to ensure her safety. Boomer’s priority in life is the love, safety and care of others and with his super power, he will continue to do so until he takes his last breath.
Why does your pet love Caring Hands Animal Hospital?
Boomer has daily appointments with Caring Hands due to his Renal Failure, and he ALWAYS receives the warmest of welcomes (as do we) every time we walk through the doors. He isn’t a fan of the required daily fluids he receives, however the extra TLC he receives makes up for it. We also believe he (may) intentionally drag his feet a bit just to get some extra snuggle time with the tech who carries him to the back room :-).
