Safe Surgical Procedures for Your Pet
Our hospital is equipped with a modern surgical suite, allowing us to perform both routine and complex procedures with precision and care. Surgeries are scheduled Monday through Friday with your preferred veterinarian to ensure the best possible experience for you and your pet.
Pre-Surgical Preparations
A Licensed Veterinary Technician closely monitors all patients, using advanced equipment to track heart rate, breathing, oxygen levels, CO2 levels, blood pressure, and temperature. Pain management is a priority, and medications are administered before and after the procedure to keep your pet comfortable. If a specialized procedure is needed beyond our scope, we will gladly provide a referral to a trusted specialist.
Surgical Protocols
Before your pet’s surgical procedure, it is important to follow these guidelines to ensure their safety:
- Do not feed your pet after 8:00 PM the night before surgery. Limited amounts of water are allowed.
- Bring your pet in between 7:30-8:00 AM on the day of surgery. You will need to review and sign the Consent Form and Treatment Plan. Please allow enough time to discuss any questions or concerns with our team.
- A veterinarian will update you after the surgery and confirm a discharge time.
- Routine procedures typically allow for same-day discharge.
- At the discharge appointment, post-operative care instructions will be provided, and any necessary medications will be reviewed.
Whatever the procedure, our experienced team at Caring Hands Animal Hospital is committed to treating your pet with compassion, and expert care.

Laser Surgery Option
For enhanced surgical precision, we offer laser surgery as an alternative to traditional surgical methods. The benefits of laser surgery include:
- Less Pain: The laser seals nerve endings as it cuts, reducing post-operative discomfort.
- Minimized Bleeding: Small blood vessels are cauterized during surgery, limiting blood loss.
- Reduced swelling: The laser makes incisions without direct contact, reducing tissue trauma.
If you have any questions about our surgical services, our team is happy to provide the guidance and support you need for your pet’s care.
