Ensuring Pet Safety and Comfort Through Expert Surgery

Every Caring Hands Animal Hospital location is equipped with a surgical suite, allowing for both routine and urgent procedures. These can be scheduled with your preferred veterinarian from Monday to Friday.

Preparations

Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians keep a keen eye on the vitals of all surgical pets, and they use proper monitoring equipment to measure heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, CO2 levels, and body temperature.

They administer pain medication before and after every surgical procedures to ensure your pet receives comfort and care every step of the way. If you require certain specialized service that is unavailable at our hospital, we will happily provide you with referrals and certified specialists.

Protocols

  • Do not feed your pet after 10:00 PM the night prior to surgery. Water in small quantities is acceptable.
  • Admit your pet between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM to review and sign the Consent Form and Treatment Plan. Please allocate enough time to read carefully and discuss these forms. The surgical team will provide a post-operative update and schedule a discharge time.
  • Pets undergoing routine surgeries will be released on the same day as their procedure.
  • At the discharge appointment, we will explain post-surgical care and review all prescribed medications.

Laser Surgery

  • Minimized Pain: The laser seals nerve endings as it cuts, reducing post-operative discomfort.
  • Decreased Bleeding: The laser cauterizes small blood vessels during the procedure.
  • Reduced Swelling: Since the laser operates without physical contact and does not crush tissues, cuts are made by an invisible beam, leading to less swelling.
