Dr. Sarah Dowling, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)
Dr. Sarah Dowling is an East Coast native but relocated to the Midwest as a child. She attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for her undergraduate and veterinary schooling, graduating with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. In 2012, she completed a rotating small animal internship at the University of Minnesota and went on to complete a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.
After becoming board-certified, Dr. Dowling returned to the East Coast to be near family. She practiced in Lancaster, PA until 2020 before moving to the DC Metro area where she continued practicing at BluePearl for a year until her final move to Northern Virginia with her husband. Dr. Dowling quickly became a familiar face at several Caring Hands locations as a mobile Internist with MOVES.
Dr. Dowling has enjoyed her time in mobile specialty medicine but is excited to have found a permanent home with Caring Hands Clarendon. She is excited to offer high-quality internal medicine services to the Caring Hands doctors, pet owners, and patients. She enjoys implementing a team approach with owners and family veterinarians to ensure seamless care for her patients.
In her free time, Dr. Dowling enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, cooking, and gardening. She also enjoys hiking with her dogs, Corbin and Fig, and hanging out with the rest of her zoo; Delilah the cat, Bun Bun the rabbit, as well as Green Cheeked Conures Sammy and Stevie.
