Asia Campfield

DVM

Asia Campfield, DVM  Co-Owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon

Dr. Siudak-Campfield, Co-Owner, is a graduate of the University Of Wisconsin School Of Veterinary Medicine.  She was born and raised in Malbork, Poland.  She also has a master’s degree in oceanography from studying in Poland and Denmark.  Dr. Campfield’s interests include feline medicine, dermatology, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery.  In her free time, she enjoys travel, skiing, and hiking.  She currently lives in Falls Church with her husband, a daughter and a son, and their two cats Louis and Rudi.

Jeffery Newman

DVM

Jeffery Newman, DVM Co-owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon

Dr. Newman, Co-Owner, is a graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in 1992. He has practiced veterinary medicine in Georgia, Nevada, and in Virginia. His interests include emergency medicine, surgery, and shelter medicine. He has three children: a daughter, Virginia, and twins, Elisabeth and Jack. His extended family consists of two dogs: Honeysuckle and Daisy May; three cats: Three, Tangerine, and Kip; two Guinea pigs: Nonie and Milkshake; and bird: Spencer; and a horse: Charlie.

Dr. Newman is the immediate past president of the VVMA, an advisor for the NOVA Veterinary Technician Program, Vice President of the Loudoun Community Cat Coalition, board member of the Friends of Loudoun County Animal Services, and President of CHASE (Caring Hands Animal Support and Education).

Michelle Vitulli

Michelle Vitulli, DVM Co-Owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon

Dr. Vitulli, founder, and owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Inc in Centreville, Virginia, is a 1991 graduate of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Vitulli is a co-owner of 7 other Caring Hands locations, Arlington which opened in 2002, Bristow, which opened in 2005, Ashburn which opened in 2007, Alexandria, which opened in 2012, Merrifield, which opened in 2014, Rockville which opened in 2015, Clarendon which opened in 2016, and a location in Aventura, FL in 2017.  She has interests in cardiology, internal medicine, and preventive care for senior pets. Dr. Vitulli, and her husband Bob have three children, Daniel, Julia and Anna, a dog named Harley, and three cats named Dewey, Little Bear, and Aslan.

Karen Murphy

DVM

Karen Murphy, DVM Co-owner of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon

Dr. Murphy, Co-Owner, is a graduate of Auburn University.  She did a post-graduate internship at Angel Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA.  She practiced in North Carolina’s Piedmont region for 5 years before joining Caring Hands Animal Hospital. She has been a part of the Caring Hands family for over 10 years beginning at our Centreville office for 5 years and then opening the Bristow location in 2005. Her interests in include preventative medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and ultrasound.

Emily Thornton

DVM

Dr. Thornton, associate veterinarian, graduated from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine after getting her bachelors degree from Virginia Tech.  Dr. Thornton recently moved to Arlington after spending 2 years working at a small animal practice in southeast West Virginia. She grew up in northern Virginia and moved back to be closer to friends and family. Her special interests include cytology and internal medicine. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, watching movies, and spending time at the dog park with her rescue dog, Olive.

Bailey Goff

DVM

Bailey Goff, DVM  

Dr. Bailey Goff is a new-graduate Veterinarian with Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. She has professional clinical interests in preventative medicine and infectious diseases.

Dr. Goff’s first experiences within the veterinary industry started at her local humane shelter’s spay and neuter clinics during middle school. Observing surgeries led to shadowing at her hometown clinic throughout high school and college before starting veterinary school. Dr. Goff loves engaging with the human-animal bond by caring for patients and providing a pleasant, insightful experience for owners. She looks forward to building new client-patient relationships during her time with Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon!

Dr. Goff grew up in rural southern Indiana before moving to Iowa for veterinary school, and her additional professional interests brought her to the Washington D.C. area after graduation. She is excited to embrace the East Coast after leaving the Midwest! She shares her household with her dog, Sal, and her cat, Keke. In her free time, she enjoys reading, visiting family and friends, and exploring local plant stores and bookstores.

Blake Shessel

DVM

Blake Shessel, DVM  

Dr. Blake Shessel is a third-generation doctor and a graduate of The University of Georgia. Following her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2018, she completed a rotating internship at Bluepearl Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta, Georgia, a surgical internship at Friendship Hospital For Animals in DC, and a research fellowship at the University of Georgia in Athens. Before moving back to the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia and joining the Caring Hands Team, she worked as an Associate Veterinarian at the Village Vets in Atlanta. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery and working on in-depth medicine cases. When not in the hospital, Dr. Shessel stays active through running and Pure Barre, loves cheering on the Dawgs, and enjoys serving as a door holder at Passion City Church DC.

Sarah Emond

DVM

Dr. Sarah Emond is a new associate veterinarian with Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Clarendon. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2023, and her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and Leadership from the University of Florida. Dr. Emond has a special interest in internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, oncology, and client education.

Growing up, she lived in many different places which led her to speak three languages! Dr. Emond was born in Quebec, Canada, but the other half of her family resides in Portugal. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, trying out new cuisines in the area, and taking care of her cat named Mowgli.

She looks forward to working with the wonderful team at Clarendon and building relationships with clients and their pets.
