Dr. Newman, Co-Owner, is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in 1992. He has practiced veterinary medicine in Georgia, Nevada, and in Virginia. His interests include emergency medicine, surgery, and shelter medicine. He and his wife, Michelle, have three children: a daughter, Virginia, and twins, Elisabeth and Jack. His extended family consists of two dogs: Honeysuckle and Daisy May; three cats: Three, Tangerine, and Kip; two Guinea pigs: Nonie and Milkshake; and bird: Spencer; and a horse: Charlie.
Dr. Newman is the immediate past president of the VVMA, an advisor for the NOVA Veterinary Technician Program, Vice President of the Loudoun Community Cat Coalition, board member of the Friends of Loudoun County Animal Services, and President of CHASE (Caring Hands Animal Support and Education).
Emily Evans, BVM&S Medical Director of Caring Hands Animal Hospital of Alexandria
Dr. Evans, Medical Director, is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh’s Royal School of Veterinary Studies in Scotland. She is a Virginia native and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond. Prior to attending veterinary school, she worked as a receptionist and Practice Manager for Caring Hands. Her interests include internal medicine, anesthesia, and dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hiking and traveling. She currently lives in Alexandria with her husband, Russell, two small children, and their world traveling lab, Skeeter.
Brian Neumann, DVM
Dr. Neumann, associate veterinarian, is a graduate of Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. Brian is a native of Bethesda, MD and attended Virginia Tech as an undergraduate. His veterinary interests include emergency medicine, surgery, and ultrasound. In his free time, he is very interested in scuba diving, fishing, Washington Redskins, and Virginia Tech Hokies football, running, hiking, cooking and traveling. He is currently living in Fairfax, VA with his girlfriend Julie, and their dogs Lane and Gracie-Lou.
Jorge Posadas, DVM
Dr. Posadas, an associate veterinarian, is a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Jorge has lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, California, and has landed in Alexandria, Virginia. He has interests in surgery, cardiology, and radiology. Outside of veterinary medicine, he enjoys watching college football, exercising, and spending time with friends and family. During the fall, he can be found rooting for the USC Trojans and VT Hokies!
Matt Rossi, DVM
Dr. Rossi, an associate veterinarian, is a graduate of Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He is originally from Long Island and obtained his bachelor’s degree at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, New York. His professional interests include surgery, neurology, and dermatology. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, CrossFit training, traveling, and cheering on the New York Rangers and New York Jets. He currently lives in Alexandria.
